Arzak Restaurant 2011-2012

I worked at Restaurant Arzak in San Sebastian, Spain for 1 year (Nov. 2011-Nov. 2012).  I had wanted to work in Spain for a long time as Spanish chefs had drawn a lot of attention to their country being at the forefront of Avant Garde cuisine.

Juan Mari Arzak is one of the most well-known and respected chefs in the world and has earned his restaurant 3 Michelin stars consecutively for over 25 years.  Elena Arzak, Juan Mari’s daughter has taken the reigns and in 2012 was awarded ‘World’s best female chef’ by Veuve Clicquot and Restaurant Magazine.  The restaurant has kept a ranking within the top 20 best restaurants in the world for several years.
